I have a signature quilt made in 1892 in Rutland by my Great grandmother, other family members and friends. I would like to determine (1) the purpose for which the quilt was made and (2) the identity of the signers I have not been able to identify. There are 49 blocks on the quilt and each of them is signed. I would appreciate any guidance the members could provide as to how I could find out this information.

I believe some of this type of quilt was made for a special occasion, such as a wedding present or house warming. I don't have any documentation on this.

What are the names on the quilt. We might be able to connect them as from the same church, or neighborhood, etc.
Do you think some of the people were related?
