Police Court

The following cases have been before the court during the past week:

Mary Madden, Margaret Stewart, J.F. Stinson, Caleb Buffum, were each

fined $16.74 for selling intoxicating liquor.

Stephen Reynolds, William Ryan and William O'Brien each paid the usual

"tax" ( $16.35) for being drunk.  Barney Brislin was fined for breach of peace.

Leave of Absence

William Spellman, James Burke, John Jushan, who had been confined in the county jail

on charges off stealing, bid farewell to friend Briggs on Monday night last and left for

parts unknown.  They sawed off two of the iron bars and picked the lock of the outer

door, thus making their escape.

They are valued at $25 each, which the Sheriff promises to pay for their apprehension and

return to their old boarding place.
