Court News

The Grand Jury after finding about forty true bills, were

discharged on Wednesday.  The following criminals were

arraigned on Thursday:

Edward S. Piper alias O. B. Clark, for Forgery, plea, not guilty

Wm. N. Kelly, for bigamy, sentenced to State's Prison  for

one year from date

Spencer Ladd, for obtaining money under False

Pretenses, Plea, not guilty

Charles F. Chappel for Forgery , Plea, not guilty

Wm. Spellman, Burglary and Larceny, Plea,

guilty, sentence suspended

John Drew for Larceny, Plea not guilty

Minnie A. Rose, for Larceny of bank notes

Retracted former plea of not guilty and plead

guilty - Sentenced to State Prison for one year

and eight months from the date.

Willard Comstock for Larceny,plea not guilty

James McKeand,for Larceny, plea, not guilty

William W. Cameron for Larceny, plea not guilty

A large number of foreigners , mostly Welsh, have

been naturalized during the week.
