7-27-1867 Rutland Independent

Willard Squires, a young man employed as brake man on the

Rennsselaer and Saratoga RR, was instantly killed by having

his head crushed between the "deadwood" of freight cars

which he was shackling in the yard at Rutland Monday morning

last.
